Playa del Carmen Hotels

Founded in 1937, Playa del Carmen Hotels are right in the middle of the Riviera Maya, one of Mexico’s most popular vacationlands. The tropical Caribbean destinations are located in the state of Quintana Roo on the Yucatan Peninsula. This resort city sits on the coast of the Caribbean Sea, just South of the large city of Cancun. Their Playa del Carmen Hotels are rapidly becoming a popular getaway with approximately 150,000 residents. This is now double what it was just a few years ago, making it the third-largest city in Quintana Roo. The rapid growth in population can likely be attributed to the ferry service that is offered to Cozumel, which allows people to see Playa and its breathtaking beaches on their routes to and from the city.

Because of the rise in traffic to the Playa del Carmen Hotels, the urban area is undergoing a massive development and even bringing chain businesses to the once small fishing community. The local inhabitants have worked hard to maintain the area’s charm and to prevent it from becoming a metropolitan like the city of Cancun. No matter how high the buildings though, the residents will continue to bring the relaxed Latin culture they are known for to the area.
